Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean the body panel using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha.
  2. Using a small paint brush apply zinc-chromate primer to the spoiler stud inner and outer holes.
  3. Clean the hood attachment surface using with isopropyl alcohol and allow to flash off for 30 seconds.
  4. IMPORTANT: Do not touch the adhesive backing.
  5. Remove the backing tape from the underside of the heat extractor
  6. Install the hood air extractor to the hood, pressing into place until the adhesive is fully seated

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  8. Install the new nuts (mastic washers) to the studs on the hood air extractors.

    Tighten:  Tighten the hood air extractor nuts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  10. Close the hood.
