Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner lower assembly (4) to the vehicle.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Secure the air cleaner lower assembly to the vehicle with 3 bolts (5).

    Tighten:  Tighten the 3 bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

  3. Install the air cleaner element (3) into the air cleaner lower assembly (4).
  4. Install the air cleaner upper assembly (2) onto the air cleaner lower assembly (4).

  5. Secure the air cleaner upper assembly (2) with the two retaining clips (3).
  6. Connect the air inlet duct to the throttle body (1).
  7. Secure the air inlet duct with the hose clamp.
  8. Connect the vacuum hoses of the auxiliary intake air control system.
  9. Install the auxiliary intake air control solenoid to the air cleaner cover. Refer to Auxiliary Intake Air Control Solenoid Replacement .
  10. Install the EVAP canister purge valve to the air cleaner cover. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement .
  11. Install the EVAP canister vent valve to the air cleaner cover. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid Valve Replacement .
  12. Connect the MAF sensor.
  13. Install the accelerator cable into the cable guide wire.
