Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  2. Remove the positive cable from the fuseblock:
    1. Open the positive cable cap.
    2. Remove the positive cable nut at the fuseblock.
    3. Remove the positive cable from the stud.
  3. Remove the positive cable cover from the cable.
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  5. Remove the positive cable from the generator:
    1. Slide the boot back along the cable.
    2. Remove the positive cable nut at the generator.
    3. Remove the positive cable from the stud.

  6. Remove the positive cable from the starter solenoid:
    1. Remove the positive cable nut (3) at the starter solenoid.
    2. Remove the positive cable from the harness conduit.
