Installation Procedure

  1. Install the head restraint frame hinge spring (1).

  3. Push the head restraint frame sleeve (2) into the seat back rest frame until the head restraint sleeve tab (1) locks in place.

  5. Position the head restraint (1), upward and into the seat back frame.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install 2 head restraint retaining screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the head restraint retaining screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  9. Position the lumbar support assembly (1).

  11. Connect the 2 lumbar support springs (1).

  13. Position the lumbar support shaft in the seat back frame, then rotate the lumbar support shaft (2) until the lumbar support shaft retaining tab (1) locks in place.
  14. Install the seat back release lever tie strap to the back of the lumbar support mechanism.

  16. Install two lumbar support assembly retainers (1).

  18. Position the seat back rest filler block (2), then install the seat back filler block lock nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the seat back rest filler block nuts to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in).

  20. Connect the return spring (2) to the release mechanism and seat back frame.
  21. Install the EZ-Entry release lever retaining clip (1) to the release mechanism.
  22. Install the seat back cover and pad assembly. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front .
  23. Check the seat mechanical and electrical operation.
