Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inflatable restraint I/P module (1).
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the I/P module retaining nuts (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten fasteners to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  3. Install the I/P module retaining bolts (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten fasteners to 9.5 N.m (84 lb in).

  4. Connect the I/P module connector (2).
  5. Install the I/P trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .
