Ignition Coil(S): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Cadillac Seville and 2003 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ensure the ignition cassette grounding spring and the insulator are in place when installing the ignition cassette. Connect the spark plug boots to the spark plugs. See Fig 2. Carefully install the ignition cassette.
  2. Install the ignition cassette retaining bolts. Tighten ignition cassette retaining bolts in sequence to specification. See Fig 3. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the AIR shut off valve. Reconnect the AIR vent solenoid harness connector. Reconnect the ignition cassette electrical connector. Keeping the injector sight shield as level as possible, place the rear of the shield under the mounting bracket. Align and press the injector sight shield onto the mounting studs. Install the mounting nuts onto the mounting studs and tighten nuts to specification.

  1. Ensure the ignition cassette grounding spring and the insulator are in place when installing the ignition cassette. Connect the spark plug boots to the spark plugs. See Figure. Carefully install the ignition cassette.
  2. Install the ignition cassette retaining bolts. Tighten ignition cassette retaining bolts in sequence to specification. See Figure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the upper filler panel to the vehicle. Install the push in retainers in order to secure the upper filler panel.
  3. Reconnect the ignition cassette electrical connector. Keeping the injector sight shield as level as possible, place the rear of the shield under the mounting bracket. Align and press the injector sight shield onto the mounting studs. Install the mounting nuts onto the mounting studs and tighten nuts.
