Fuel Filler Tube: Installation

  1. Install the fuel filler pipe. Install the fuel filler pipe clamp. Tighten the fuel filler pipe clamp to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the fuel tank filler pipe ground wire attaching bolt. Tighten the bolt to specification. Install the wheel house filler pipe opening cover.
  2. Lower the vehicle. Add fuel to the fuel tank. Install the fuel tank filler pipe cap. Connect the negative battery cable. Install the rear seat cushion. Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks: Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  3. Keeping the injector sight shield as level as possible, place the rear of the shield under the mounting bracket. Align and press the injector sight shield onto the mounting studs. Install the mounting nuts onto the mounting studs and tighten nuts to specification.
