1 Did you perform the Power Seat Systems Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems 
2 Attempt to set and recall Memory 1, Memory 2, and Exit seat positions.
Do the memory seat recall functions operate properly?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Disconnect the memory select switch connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire from the memory 1 switch signal circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  4. Observe the Memory Switch parameter in the memory seat module Input/Output data list.
Does the scan tool indicate the Memory 1 switch is active?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from the memory 2 switch signal circuit terminal in the harness connector to ground.
  2. Observe the Memory Switch parameter in the memory seat module Input/Output data list.
Does the scan tool indicate the Memory 2 switch is active?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6 
5 Test the memory 1 switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 8 
6 Test the memory 2 switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 8 
7 Inspect for poor connections at the memory select switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 9 
8 Inspect for poor connections at the memory seat module connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 11  Go to Step 10 
9 Replace the memory select switch. Refer to Memory Seat Switch Replacement (Rendezvous) .
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 11  -
10 Replace the memory seat module. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement .
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 11  -
11 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 3
