Installation Procedure

  1. Position the pressure hose into place.

  2. Connect the pressure hose into the retaining bracket.
  3. Install the pressure hose to the steering gear.

    Tighten:  Tighten the pressure hose filling to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  4. Install the retainer stud to the pipe rear clip, if applicable.
  5. Connect the wiring harness to the rear clip stud.

  6. With front wheel drive vehicles, install the pipe retainer.
  7. Install the right side splash panel.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
    9. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  9. Install the pressure hose to the pump.

    Tighten:  Tighten the pressure hose fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
  11. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
