Removal Procedure

  1. Pull the rear door weatherstrip from the pinchweld flange as required.
  2. If the vehicle does not have a side curtain airbag, use J 38778  to disengage the retaining clips.
  3. If the vehicle has a side curtain air bag perform the following procedure:
    • Use a flat-bladed tool to remove the screw button cover.
    • Remove the retaining screw.
    • Use J 38778  to disengage the retaining clip.

  5. Remove the trim panel from the vehicle.
  6. If damaged, drill out the rivet on the retaining clip (2).

  8. Remove the retaining clip from the vehicle.
