Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the compressor hose assembly.

  3. Install the compressor hose to the condenser using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the compressor hose nut to the condenser.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  6. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C low pressure switch.

  8. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  9. Install the nut (1) to the accumulator.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  11. Install the compressor hose (1) to the A/C compressor using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  12. Install the compressor hose nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  13. Install the washer bottle. Refer to Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Envoy, TrailBlazer) or Washer Solvent Container Replacement (Rainier) in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  14. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  15. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  . See Special Tools and Equipment .
