Enabling Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the key from the ignition.
  2. Connect the EFS connectors to both (2) EFS's.
  3. Install the CPAs to both EFS connectors.

  4. Install sensor bracket to bumper. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement .
  5. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Envoy, Envoy XUV) or Grille Replacement (TrailBlazer) or Grille Replacement (Bravada) or Grille Replacement (Rainier) in Exterior Trim.

  7. Install the SIR fuse into the fuse block (1) located in the underhood fuse block.
  8. Staying well away from all air bags, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
    1. The AIR BAG indicator will flash 7 times.
    2. The AIR BAG indicator will then turn OFF.
  9. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - SIR  if the AIR BAG indicator does not operate as described.
