Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    CAUTION: Insufficient curing of urethane adhesive may allow unrestrained occupants to be ejected from the vehicle resulting in personal injury.
    • For the moisture-curing type of urethane adhesive, allow a minimum of 6 hours at 21°C (70°F) or greater and with at least 30 percent relative humidity. Allow at least 24 hours for the complete curing of the urethane adhesive.
    • For the chemical-curing type of urethane adhesive, allow a minimum of 1 hour.

    Do NOT physically disturb the repair area until after these minimum times have elapsed.
    IMPORTANT: The actuator screw must be tightened and the window frame pin must be removed for the window to function properly.
  1. Install the body side window into the opening. Refer to Urethane Adhesive Installation of Bodyside Stationary Windows (W/Frame)  or Urethane Adhesive Installation of Bodyside Stationary Windows (W/O Frame) .
  2. Remove the double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and inner trim of the window.

  4. Insert the actuator screw into the slot on the window bracket.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Tighten the actuator screw.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  8. Remove the window bracket (3) to the window frame pin (1) prior to operating the body side window.
