Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers in the diagnostic procedures.

1. 6  - This step checks VSS sensor for a battery positive supply.
2. 7  - This step checks VSS sensor for a ground supply.
3. 8  - This step checks for a shorted to ground speedometer vehicle speed input circuit.
4. 9  - This step checks VSS for an output signal.
5. 10  - This step checks PCM vehicle speed input circuit for continuity to speedometer.
6. 11  - This step checks speedometer for an output signal. Each one Hz of frequency is approximately equal to one mile per hour.
