Checking Fluid Levels

NOTE: Inspect fluid level only when engine is off. Ensure vehicle is level. The transaxle fluid must be cold.
  1. Raise and suitable support the vehicle. Remove the level check plug. See Fig 1 . Verify fluid is up to the opening. Perform the following procedure if no fluid is visible:
    1. Lower the vehicle.
    2. Remove transaxle fluid filler cap. See Fig 2 .
    3. Add appropriate fluid to the level check opening until level check opening begins to leak fluid. See Fig 1 . See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS  .
    4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  2. Install fluid level check plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Lower the vehicle.
