Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator bracket.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the generator bracket bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts in sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  4. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

  5. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
  6. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

  7. Install the generator. Refer to GENERATOR REPLACEMENT (2.2L (L61))  or GENERATOR REPLACEMENT (3.4L) .
  8. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counter clockwise.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
