Draining & Refilling

NOTE: Numbers in parenthesis refer to callouts in designated illustration.
  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the fill plug (2) and gasket. See Fig 1 .
  3. Place a container under the drain plug (1) in order to catch the oil. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove the drain plug and gasket. Allow the oil to drain.
  5. Install the drain plug (1) and gasket. Tighten drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Fill the transfer case with appropriate fluid. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS  .
  7. Fill the transfer case to bottom of the oil fill plug (2) hole. See Fig 1 .
  8. Install the oil fill plug (2) and gasket. Tighten drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
