Installation Procedure

Install the splash shield to the wheelhouse panel. Refer to WHEELHOUSE EXTENSION REPLACEMENT .
Install the wheelhouse panel to the fender.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the wheelhouse panel to the cowl.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts that retain the wheelhouse panel to the frame to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

Install the bolts that retain the wheelhouse panel to the fender.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

Install the bolts that retain the wheelhouse panel to the radiator support.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).
Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to COOLANT RECOVERY RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT in Engine Cooling.
Install the VCM/PCM to the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE in Engine Controls-2.2L
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE in Engine Controls-4.3L
Install the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.
Install the battery. Refer to BATTERY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.
