Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (GMC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (CHEVROLET) in Exterior Trim.
  2. Remove the hood bumper from the fender. Refer to HOOD BUMPER REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the hood. Refer to HOOD REPLACEMENT .
  4. Remove the antenna mast and the base. Refer to FIXED ANTENNA MAST REPLACEMENT in Entertainment.
  5. Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.
  6. Remove the radiator coolant reservoir. Refer to COOLANT RECOVERY RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT in Engine Cooling.

  7. Remove the electronic brake control module from the fender. Refer to ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (EBCM) REPLACEMENT in Antilock Brake System.
  8. Remove the vacuum tank from the left fender. Refer to VACUUM TANK REPLACEMENT in HVAC Systems-Manual.
  9. Remove the electrical harness retaining clips from the fender.
  10. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the radiator support.
  11. Remove the bolt that retains the fender to the reinforcement.
  12. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the cowl.
  13. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the door hinge.
  14. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the rocker panel.

  15. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the wheelhouse.
  16. Remove the wiring harness and vacuum line retainers from the fender.
  17. Remove the fender from the vehicle.
