Fog Lamp Aiming Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The front foglamps can be adjusted by turning the adjustment screw.

On the Xtreme, the adjustment screw is located above the center of the front foglamp.

Use the following guidelines in order to adjust the aim:

On vehicles with the foglamp built into the headlamp housing, no adjustment for just the foglamp is available. Aiming is accomplished by aiming the headlamp assembly. Refer to HEADLAMP AIMING .

The front foglamps may be adjusted using the screen method. Refer to for information on preparing an aiming screen.

Use the following procedure in order to aim the foglamps using the screen method:

  3. Ensure that the vehicle has 1/2 tank of fuel or less.
  4. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  5. Rock the vehicle to stabilize the suspension.
  6. Adjust the height of the horizontal tape line (3) on the aiming screen so that the distance between the line and the floor is 101.6 mm (4 in) LESS than the distance between the floor and the horizontal centerline (5) of the front foglamps on the vehicle.
  7. Turn on the front foglamps, and block the light from the headlamps, if necessary.
