Throttle Body: Removal

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector. See Figure . Disconnect the breather tube from the air cleaner intake duct.
  2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector. See Figure . Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Disconnect the accelerator cable cross slug from the throttle body lever. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle lever. Remove the accelerator control cable bracket with accelerator and cruise control cables attached and set aside. Disconnect the throttle body coolant by-pass hoses.
  3. Disconnect the heater pipe nut at the throttle body. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold. Remove the throttle body assembly.
