Installation Procedure

  1. Position the exhaust heat shield to the vehicle and place the rear of the shield under the catalytic converter heat shield.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the exhaust heat shield nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Install NEW exhaust heat shield rivets.
  4. Install the manifold exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (3.5L (L66)) .
  5. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (2.2L (L61) and 2.4L (LAT)) .
