Ride Too Soft
NOTE:
It may be necessary to compare the results of the road test to a like vehicle that is operating properly.
- Road test the vehicle in order to verify the customer complaint. Does the vehicle ride too soft? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
- Inspect the tires for the proper inflation pressure. Is the tire inflation pressure correct? If yes, go to step 4 . If no, go to next step.
- Inflate the tires to the correct pressure. Has the repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
- Inspect the vehicle trim height. Has the inspection/repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
- Inspect the springs and shock absorbers for wear or damage. Are any of the components the worn or damaged? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step 7 .
- Replace all of the worn or damaged components. For shock absorber replacement, see SHOCK ABSORBER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. For spring replacement, see COIL SPRING under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Has the repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
- Inspect the automatic level control system, if equipped. Repair as necessary.
