Ride Too Soft

NOTE: It may be necessary to compare the results of the road test to a like vehicle that is operating properly.
  1. Road test the vehicle in order to verify the customer complaint. Does the vehicle ride too soft? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  2. Inspect the tires for the proper inflation pressure. Is the tire inflation pressure correct? If yes, go to step  4 . If no, go to next step.
  3. Inflate the tires to the correct pressure. Has the repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the vehicle trim height. Has the inspection/repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the springs and shock absorbers for wear or damage. Are any of the components the worn or damaged? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  7 .
  6. Replace all of the worn or damaged components. For shock absorber replacement, see SHOCK ABSORBER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. For spring replacement, see COIL SPRING  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Has the repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
  7. Inspect the automatic level control system, if equipped. Repair as necessary.
