Frame Mount: Removal

  1. Using a wheel lift hoist raise vehicle. Using utility stands support some of the weight of the vehicle at rear jacking points. Remove rear shock absorbers. See SHOCK ABSORBER  .
  2. Remove the right hand brake cable from the left guide loop. For AWD, disconnect the electrical connector from the rear differential clutch pump check valve. Remove both ABS wiring harnesses from the frame rails.
  3. Remove brake hose mounting bolts from body brackets. Remove the electrical connector from the ALC height sensor. Lower the rear wheel lift hoist to unload the suspension partially, letting the utility stands take some of the vehicle weight.
  4. Remove rear suspension module mounting bolts. See CROSSMEMBER  . With the help from an assistant , lower and rotate back the rear suspension module, approximately 4-1/2 in. (114 mm) at the front mount, to install bushing removal/installation tool. Remove rear suspension module frame mounts using the Frame Mount Installer/Receiver (J-45677).
