Installation Procedure

Important:  If the lock cylinder does not rotate to off/lock position, the linear shift park lock cable needs to be adjusted.

1. Install the linear shift assembly.
2. Connect the electrical connector.
3. Twist to install the linear shift park lock cable into the lock housing.
   NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
4. Install the retaining screws.

   Tighten

   Tighten the screws to 13 N.m (10 lb ft).

5. Install the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
6. Install the shift lever retaining screw.

   Tighten

   Tighten the shift lever retaining screw to 6.67 N.m (1.5 lb ft).

7. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM .
