Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump reservoir to the power steering pump. Refer to POWER STEERING RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT - OFF VEHICLE (CB SERIES) .
  2. Install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump. Refer to POWER STEERING PULLEY REPLACEMENT .
  3. Position the power steering pump to the vehicle.
  4. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 34 N.m (25 ft. lbs.).

  5. Install the wiring harness to the wiring harness retainer located on the power steering pump reservoir.

  6. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  7. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.

  8. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to 3.4L AZTEK & RENDEZVOUS under SERPENTINE BELT ROUTING & ALIGNMENT in ENGINE COOLING.
  9. Flush the power steering system. Refer to FLUSHING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to BLEEDING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
  11. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Figure.
