Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
    NOTE: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
  2. Apply tape to the corners of the hood and the adjacent surfaces.
  3. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
  4. Remove the assist rods from the hood. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood .
  5. Remove the bolts from the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.
  6. Remove the hood from the vehicle with an assistant.
