30-Minute Relearn Procedure

NOTE: Use this procedure after replacement of PASS Key(R) III keys, theft deterrent control module or PCM. This procedure is not available on vehicles with English/French SIR warning label.
  1. Using a master PASS Key(R) III, turn ignition switch to RUN position. Observe SECURITY indicator. After about 10 minutes, SECURITY indicator will turn off.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Wait 5 seconds. Repeat procedure two more times for a total of 3 cycles or 30 minutes.
  3. Using a master key, turn ignition switch to RUN position. Vehicle has now learned key transponder information and PCM has now learned fuel continue password. Using scan tool, clear any DTCs.
