Vehicle Communications Unit: Removal

  1. Remove right insulator panel.
  2. Open instrument panel compartment. Remove bolts from instrument panel compartment hinge. See Figure.
  3. Remove instrument panel compartment from instrument panel, and locate Vehicle Communication Unit (VCU).
  4. Remove screws securing VCU bracket to instrument panel metal brace. See Figure.
  5. Remove clip-on strap securing VCU to bracket. See Figure.
  6. Disconnect harness connectors.
  7. Disconnect cell antenna coaxial cable from VCU.
  8. Old VCU must be returned for core credit.
