Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery negative terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
  2. Disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery positive terminal. Refer to Battery Positive Cable Replacement .
  3. Remove the battery limiter from the vehicle if equipped.
  4. Remove the battery hold-down bolt and retainer.
  5. Remove the battery.

  6. Remove the battery tray bolts.
  7. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.

  8. For gas engines only, remove the vacuum hose and tank from the battery tray.
