Tire Pressure Sensor: Notes
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 1996 Chevrolet Corvette, 1995 Chevrolet Corvette, 1994 Chevrolet Corvette, 1993 Chevrolet Corvette, and 1992 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
DO NOT use hand tools or tire irons to change a tire, as they may damage the tire beads, wheel rim flanges, or the tire pressure sensors.
CAUTION:
DO NOT inject any tire liquid or aerosol tire sealant into tires, as this may damage tire pressure sensors.
NOTE:
When a defective wheel sensor is replaced, always clear the receiver/control module diagnostic memory before road-testing vehicle to avoid reading original fault code stored in memory. Memory can be cleared using a Tech 1 scan tool, or by grounding ALDL connector pin "B" to pin "A" 3 times within 10 seconds.
NOTE:
To locate a specific tire pressure sensor on base coupes and convertibles, check the pressure sensor notice label adhered to the wheel flange. If the label displays a numeral 1, this indicates an original factory wheel position at the front of the vehicle. A numeral 2 indicates an original factory position at the rear of the vehicle. Since ZR1 special performance coupe wheels cannot be rotated, sensor positions remain as installed from the factory. See TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS table.
