Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM  .
  2. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - LOWER  .
  3. Remove the radiator drain plug and seal. The seal usually comes out attached to the plug.
  4. Remove the body of the drain plug. Use your fingers or needlenose pliers to disengage the locking tabs from the side tank.

  5. Clean the drain cock and the drain cock plug.
