Removal Procedure

- Open the hood.NOTE: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Apply tape to the corners of the hood and the adjacent surfaces.
- Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
- Remove the assist rods from the hood. Refer to ASSIST ROD REPLACEMENT - HOOD .
- Remove the bolts from the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.
- Remove the hood from the vehicle with an assistant.
