Heated Seats

Battery voltage to heated seat switch is controlled by BCM, so heated seat system can be turned off when a charging system fault is detected and load shed is enabled. Heated seat relay module controls heated seat operation by using inputs from heated seat switch signal circuit and heated seat thermistor. Whenever battery voltage is supplied to BCM, and heated seat switch is activated, heated seat switch indicator will illuminate. Heated seat thermistor monitors seat cushion temperature by varying resistance to ground. When seat cushion is cold, resistance through heated seat thermistor is high, and when cushion is warm thermistor resistance is low. When heated seat relay module receives a heated seat switch active signal and thermistor signal circuit voltage is high, battery voltage is supplied to seat heater elements. As seat cushion temperature increases resistance through thermistor decreases and heated seat relay module turns off voltage supply to heater elements.
