Content Theft Deterrent Description & Operation: Notes
The Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system (when armed) is designed to deter vehicle content theft by pulsing horns and exterior lamps for approximately 30 seconds when an unauthorized vehicle entry is detected. CTD system does not affect engine starting.
Unauthorized entry can be any of following when CTD system is in armed mode:
- Forced entry into passenger compartment.
- When any door is opened without being unlocked using a key, or an UNLOCK command from a keyless entry transmitter.
- Forced entry into rear compartment.
CTD system components are:
- Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR).
- Door jamb switches.
- Body Control Module (BCM).
- Front door lock cylinder switches.
- If equipped liftgate key cylinder unlock switch.
- If equipped lift glass ajar switches.
- Power door lock switches.
