Preliminary Inspection

Verify customer complaint by operating cruise control system. Visually inspect for obvious sign of mechanical and electrical damage. Verify brakelights function properly. Inspect for faulty cruise control system fuses, loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harness and/or switches. Inspect for damaged or binding cruise control cable. Inspect for incorrect cruise control cable, and brakelight switch adjustments. Ensure components are properly adjusted as necessary. Inspect throttle linkage/cable for smooth operation. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If problem is found, repair as necessary. If no problem is found, perform CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
