Test D: Retained Accessory Power On After Time-Out
- If retained accessory power diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If retained accessory power diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove RAP relay from Center Console (CC) fuse block. CC fuse block is located behind right console access panel, inside of console. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check power windows and sunroof for correct operation. If power windows and sunroof operate correctly, go to next step. If power windows and sunroof do not operate correctly, go to step 5.
- Disconnect console electrical center. See CONSOLE ELECTRICAL CENTER REPLACEMENT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for short to voltage in power window and sunroof feed circuit (circuit No. 75). See Figure. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 10.
- Replace console electrical center. See CONSOLE ELECTRICAL CENTER REPLACEMENT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are made, go to step 10.
- Open any door. Using test light connected to ground probe RAP relay control circuit (circuit No. 707). See Figure. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, go to step 7.
- Replace RAP relay. After repairs are made, go to step 10.
- Check for short to voltage in RAP relay control circuit (circuit No. 707). See Figure. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 10.
- Check for poor, loose or corroded connections at BCM harness connector C3. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 10.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair are made, go to next step.
- Operate RAP system to verify repair. If no problem is found, testing is complete. If problem is found, go to step 2.
NOTE:
Body Control Module (BCM) harness connector C3 is located on end of BCM. For connector access BCM must be removed from center console fuse block.
