Transmitter Programming

NOTE: Following procedure must be performed when replacing Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) or either transmitter. All transmitters (up to 4) must be programmed in the same programming session.
  1. Turn ignition off. Close all doors. Remove MALL PGM fuse from fuse panel. Turn ignition to ACC position. Seat belt indicator flashes and chime sounds 2, 3 or 4 times. This identifies type of BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article for BCM identification. RKE requires a type 3 or 4 BCM.
  2. Turn ignition to OFF, then back to ACC within one second. If BCM has stored DTCs, BCM will flash and chime DTCs. Record DTCs and see SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . Open then close any vehicle door. Chime will be heard when remote control door lock receiver enters programming/diagnostic mode.
  3. Depress and hold transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds. One chime should be heard at 7 seconds to confirm successful synchronization and 14 seconds to confirm successful programming.
  4. Repeat step  3 for each transmitter to be programmed. Remove ignition key. Install MALL PGM fuse.
