Changing Feature Customization Modes

  1. Turn off the intrument panel dimmer switch.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Remove the MALL PGM fuse from the instrument panel fuse box.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. The BCM will sound the chime the number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle (1, 2, 3 or 4 chimes). Ensure vehicle is equipped with either a type 3 or type 4 BCM. BCM has now entered the feature customization mode.
  5. To change remote unlock control mode, press and release the unlock button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  6. The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the remote unlock control mode. A transition past mode 2 repeats the sequence starting with mode 1.
  7. To change the remote activation verification mode, press and release the lock button on the keyless entry transmitter. The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the remote activation verication mode. A transition past mode 4 repeats the sequence starting with mode 1.
  8. To exit and save the current feature customization modes, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Reinstall the MALL PGM fuse. If unable to change locking modes, see TEST D: REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM DOES NOT CHANGE CUSTOMIZATION MODES  under SYSTEM TESTS.
