Remote Keyless Entry System Circuit Operation: Notes

NOTE: RPO is regular production option code.

The keyless entry system allows the driver to perform the following functions from outside the vehicle by using a hand-held radio transmitter:

The transmitter operates in the UHF band. The transmitter sends digitally coded signals to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) when pressing any of the transmitter buttons.

The RCDLR detects and decodes transmitter signals. For locking, unlocking and remote alarm commands, the RCDLR sends command messages to the Body Control Module (BCM) to operate the following components:

For the rear compartment lid release command, the RCDLR sends a direct signal to the rear compartment lid release actuator.

The following components may also be operated in the usual manner:

For example the door locks respond to the door lock switches. The keyless entry system can be programmed with up to 4 keyless entry transmitters.
