Circuit Description
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor measures pressure changes within intake manifold to indicate engine load. MAP sensor is mounted on top of intake manifold. MAP sensor has a 5-volt reference circuit, ground and a signal circuit.
PCM compares MAP sensor signal activity with throttle angle and RPM. If PCM detects a large MAP change without sensing a change in throttle angle and RPM, DTC will set.
DTC will set when following conditions are present:
- DTCs P0107, P0108, P0121, P0122 or P0123 not set.
- Engine operating.
- ASR/TCS (if equipped) not in traction event.
- Engine speed does not change more than 100 RPM.
- TP sensor angle does not change more than 5 percent.
- EGR position does not change more than 25 percent.
- IAC position at a steady rate.
- No change in A/C clutch, power steering, brake or transmission signal.
- PCM detects a substantial change in MAP without being proceeded by a large change in throttle angle and RPM.
- Conditions stable for .5 second.
- Conditions met for 4.5 seconds.
