DTC 95, Open Brake Switch Circuit: Notes

This test is used to identify open brake switch circuit preventing brake switch input to EBCM from changing states when brake is applied. This DTC is used in conjunction with DTCs 91 and 92 to determine cause of open brake switch fault. DTC 95 will disable ABS function and turn ABS warning light on.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. To identify circuits and terminals referenced in text and flowcharts, see WIRING DIAGRAM .

Confirms open circuit currently exists.
Determines if brake switch signal is being received by EBCM.
Isolates open circuit to either brake switch or brakelight circuit.
Isolates open circuit to either brake switch input circuit or EBCM.
