Code 01 Or 02, In-Car Temperature Sensor Test
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and 1996 Buick Regal. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Unplug in-car air temperature sensor connector. In-car air temperature sensor is mounted behind right side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Set A/C-heater control in AUTO mode. Measure voltage at Dark Green wire terminal of in-car air temperature sensor connector.
- If voltage is 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 5 volts and Code 01 is set, check for shorted Dark Green wire. If Code 02 is set, check for short to voltage or open Dark Green wire. If wire is okay, replace A/C-heater control unit.
- Measure voltage between Dark Green wire and Brown wire at sensor connector. If voltage is not 5 volts, check and/or repair open Brown wire. If voltage is 5 volts, check A/C control unit connectors. Clean or repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, replace in-car air temperature sensor.
