Low Coolant Indicator

  1. If LOW COOLANT indicator is off, and coolant level is low, go to step 3). If LOW COOLANT indicator lights and coolant level is okay, disconnect low coolant indicator module located on side of radiator. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. If indicator does not come on, replace low coolant indicator module. If indicator comes on, check Yellow/Black wire for a short to ground between instrument cluster connector and engine coolant level indicator module connector terminal "B". If circuits are okay, replace instrument cluster.
  3. Disconnect engine coolant level indicator module connector. Turn ignition on. Connect fused jumper wire between engine coolant level indicator module connector terminal "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If LOW COOLANT indicator lights, go to next step. If indicator does not light, check all circuits, connectors, and bulb for open or short circuits. If all circuits are okay, replace instrument cluster.
  4. Connect fused jumper wire between coolant level module connector terminals "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and "C" (Black/White wire). If low coolant indicator remains on, check for poor connections between coolant level module and instrument cluster. If connections are okay, replace coolant level module. If indicator goes out, check for poor connections at coolant level module or for open in Black/White wire between coolant level switch and ground. Repair or replace as necessary.
