Code 164 - Adjuster Assembly Motor Circuit Open: Notes
Identifies TCS adjuster assembly motor that cannot be energized due to an open circuit. Code 164 can only set when adjuster assembly motor is commanded off. Malfunction exists when EBTCM detects an out of range voltage on either adjuster assembly circuits, indicating an open circuit.
An open adjuster assembly motor will not activate when requested. Code will be stored, TCS and BRAKE warning lights are illuminated.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests.
- Checks adjuster assembly motor for proper resistance.
- Check for open in adjuster assembly motor high circuit.
- Checks for open in adjuster assembly motor low circuit.
- Ensures malfunction was not due to poor terminal contact.
