Code 114 - TCS Enable Relay Contact Circuit Open: Notes

Ignition voltage is supplied through ASR/TCS relay. EBTCM is then able to energize the pull-in coil by completing ground circuit at EBTCM ASR/TCS relay control terminal, supplying power to motors and solenoids.

Code 114 can set anytime after EBTCM commands the ASR/TCS relay on (relay is first commanded on during the 3 second bulb check). This test monitors the availability of current and voltage to motors and solenoids. This malfunction indicates voltage is not available and would not allow TCS operation, if required.

If code is stored, TCS is disabled and TCS warning light is illuminated. The BRAKE warning light is illuminated if TCS is active at time of malfunction.

1. Checks if Code 116 is set as current or history. If Code 116 is also set, proceed to that chart first.
2. Verifies if malfunction is currently present.
3. Verifies that relay can be turned on and provide voltage to EBTCM.
4. Checks for high resistance in switch battery circuit from relay to EBTCM.
5. Checks for high resistance in switched battery circuit from battery to relay.
6. Checks for high resistance in relay contacts.
7. Checks for poor terminal contact or corrosion at connectors.
8. Determines if EBTCM is cause of malfunction.
9. Checks for high resistance in entire relay coil circuit.
10. Verifies proper battery condition.
11. Verifies if proper voltage is available at ASR/TCS relay.
12. Checks for open in switched battery circuit from relay to EBTCM.
13. Verifies condition of ASR/TCS relay.
14. Checks for proper resistance of relay coil
15. Checks for high resistance in ASR/TCS relay control circuit between relay and EBTCM.
16. Checks for high resistance in ASR/TCS relay control circuit between battery and relay.
