Checking Fluid Level

  1. Park vehicle on level surface. Apply parking brake. Set selector lever in Park. Start and operate engine for 15 minutes, or until it reaches normal operating temperature. Apply brakes, shift through all gears, and return selector lever to Park.
  2. Remove dipstick and carefully touch dipstick end to determine temperature of fluid. If fluid is cool or warm, fluid level should be in COLD range. If fluid is too hot to touch, fluid level should be in HOT range. Add fluid if necessary. DO NOT  overfill.
