Headlight Switch

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Unplug connector from switch. Set switch to OFF position. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 1 (Black wire on mating connector) and No. 2 (White/Brown wire on mating connector). Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 1 (Black wire on mating connector) and No. 3 (White/Green wire on mating connector).
  2. Set switch to PARK position. Continuity should not exist between terminals No. 1 (Black wire on mating connector) and No. 2 (White/Brown wire on mating connector). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 (Black wire on mating connector) and No. 3 (White/Green wire on mating connector).
  3. Set switch to HEAD position. Continuity not exist between terminals No. 1 (Black wire on mating connector) and No. 2 (White/Brown wire on mating connector). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 (Black wire on mating connector) and No. 3 (White/Green wire on mating connector).
  4. Unplug connector from turn signal/dimmer switch. Set dimmer switch to low beam position (toward steering wheel). Continuity should not exist between terminals "Z" (Yellow wire on mating connector) and "X" (White/Green wire on mating connector). Continuity should not exist between terminals "W" (Red wire on mating connector) and any other terminal. Continuity should exist between terminals "Z" and "Y" (White/Brown wire on mating connector).
  5. Set dimmer switch to high beam position (away from steering wheel). Continuity should exist between terminals "Z" (Yellow wire on mating connector) and "X" (White/Green wire on mating connector). Continuity should not exist between terminals "W" (Red wire on mating connector) and any other terminal. Continuity should not exist between terminals "Z" and "Y" (White/Brown wire on mating connector).
  6. Pull lever to flash-to-pass position (toward steering wheel). Continuity should exist between terminals "W" (Red wire on mating connector) and "X" White/Green wire on mating connector.
