Computerized Engine Controls: Notes

An Electronic Control Module (ECM) controls fuel, ignition, emission systems, and torque converter clutch lock-up. Input sensors supply the computer with signals which indicate operating conditions of the vehicle. Output signals control systems which control vehicle operation. Operational parameters are programmed into computer memory.
