Engine Cooling Fan: Operation: V6
Engine Control Module (ECM) controls electric cooling fan through a cooling fan relay. ECM will energize cooling fan relay when one or more of the following conditions exist: Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor indicates 228°F (109°C) or more, A/C is requested and vehicle speed is less than 35 MPH, A/C is requested and A/C refrigerant pressure sensor indicates approximately 20 psi (1.4 kg/cm2 ) or more. ECM will energize cooling fan relay continuously when ECM is operating in back-up mode or any A/C Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is stored. If vehicle speed is greater than 70 MPH, ECM will not energize cooling fan relay.
